Theresa Sammons, a dedicated Nutrition Educator Assistant, covers East and West Carroll Parishes with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. In her role, she consistently demonstrates gratitude for her position and expresses appreciation for her supportive colleagues. Particularly, Theresa acknowledges her immediate supervisor, Mrs. Carolyn Robinson, as a valued mentor whose guidance has been instrumental in her professional growth.
Throughout her tenure, Theresa’s schedule remains packed, averaging 18-20 sites or activities each month. Despite the demanding workload, she embraces each day with excitement and zeal, whether conducting sessions at schools or adult-oriented venues. Theresa finds fulfillment in the belief that the team at SU Ag and Extension is making a tangible difference in the lives of participants. She takes pride in the warm reception she receives from school children, who eagerly anticipate her visits with cheers of “Yay, it’s Mrs. Theresa!”
Theresa, alongside Mrs. Carolyn, actively engages in various community initiatives and LSU-coordinated programs, such as the Strawberry Jam Workshops, Story Walk, Walk-A-Mile Day, and local festivals. Notably, the Health Fairs organized in East Carroll Parish have been met with resounding success, with attendees eagerly awaiting future events.
