SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education Program Participates in LSU Ag Center’s “AgMagic” Event

The SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education Program participated in the LSU Ag Center’s “AgMagic” event, a week-long initiative aimed at enlightening Louisiana students about the state’s rich agricultural heritage, wilderness, and nutrition education.

“AgMagic” serves as a vital platform for engaging students with interactive exhibits and educational activities, offering a hands-on experience that fosters a deeper understanding of Louisiana’s agricultural landscape and the importance of nutrition in their lives.

During the event, the SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education Program provided concise yet comprehensive nutrition education to over 1000 students throughout the week. Through engaging demonstrations, SNAP-Ed empowered students with essential knowledge about making healthy food choices and understanding the significance of balanced nutrition and physical activity in their overall well-being.

“We are always excited to participate in ‘AgMagic,’” said Evan Egana, SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator for East Feliciana, and East Baton Rouge Parish. “This collaboration highlights our commitment to promoting health and wellness among Louisiana’s youth through education and community engagement.”

The SNAP-Ed team extends its gratitude to the LSU Ag Center for organizing this impactful event and looks forward to continuing its efforts to empower students with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health throughout the community.
